Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. What type of mental health professional will I see?
You'll be matched with a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC). Our providers are licensed in California and specialize in treating anxiety and depression. They can offer both therapy and medication management, giving you comprehensive care from one professional.
2. How long does the therapy session take?
Your first appointment is typically 60 minutes. Follow-up therapy sessions are 45-50 minutes. Medication management sessions are 30 minutes (if needed)
3. Will I need medication for anxiety or depression?
Not necessarily. Many patients start with therapy alone. Your mental health professional will assess your symptoms and discuss all treatment options with you, including therapy-only approaches, medication, or combined treatment. The decision is always collaborative and based on what will work best for you.
4. What if I've tried therapy before?
Sometimes it's about finding the right fit. A fresh evaluation can identify what was missing.
5. What insurance do you accept?
We accept most major California insurance plans including Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Cigna, Health Net, United Healthcare, Medicare, and many others. Contact us to verify your specific plan.
6. What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?
We understand life happens. Please give us 24 hours notice when possible. We have a cancellation policy outlined in Our Terms.
